Do you have a favorite memory of assisting in a day camp or overnight camp at FSMN?
There was a day when it rained during dinner time, so we took all of the campers to a restaurant. Everyone was incredibly enthusiastic about ordering pizza, and it really cracked me up. The whole thing was so fun, but when we got back it had barely rained so the trip was entirely unnecessary. Totally worth it though.
Do you have a favorite memory of being a camper when you were a student at FSMN?
The first time I ever went camping was with FSMN when I was in 7th grade. My mom, who had never been camping either, forced me to bring a massive suitcase with all of my clothing and supplies. I was lucky that all my friends were so nice about it, and it definitely made me a better packer. It wasn’t very fun at the time, but it’s hilarious to look back on now.
Is there a Quaker value you particularly still connect to/practice in your life post FSMN?
Definitely justice. Especially with all of the injustice that Minnesota has been faced with recently, it feels important for me to center justice in my life. It has been amazing to see what Minnesotans have done, and I have been lucky enough to take part in some activities, like protests, that help to create change and fight for social justice.
