Many Ways to Give
You can also customize your giving with these many options:
If you prefer to give by check, mail it to:
Friends School of Minnesota

Make it Monthly with a Recurring Donation
Become a Sustaining Donor by choosing to give monthly. Advantages of a recurring donation include:
- Fits easily into your monthly budget
- Predictable and reliable
- Can be directed from your credit card or bank account
- Can be changed or stopped at any time
As a Sustaining Donor, you choose a monthly amount that works for you (examples below).
To set up a recurring donation, choose the “make this a recurring donation deducted” (“monthly” or “annually”) option when you give via our secure giving system.
Make a Pledge
Plan to give, but prefer to personalize your giving schedule? Make a pledge to customize your giving. You will receive a reminder before your specified date(s).
Employer Matching Gifts
Many employers will double or even triple match your donation. Some companies will also match your gift if you are a retiree.
To find out if your donation may be eligible for an employer matching gift, contact your HR department or search for “matching gifts” on your company’s website to find out how to activate the matching program. Bring the paperwork to us and we will gladly help!
Employee Volunteer Programs
Whether you’re a regular at the Friends School Plant Sale, serve on the School Committee, or help early readers through the DEAR program, an Employee Volunteer Program can help turn your time into a donation for FSMN.
You may also be eligible to receive paid time off for your volunteer hours. We will help you track your volunteer time and provide documentation to your employer.
Check with your employer’s HR department or search your company’s website to see if your employee participates in a “volunteer grant” or “dollars for doers” program.
Charitable Gift of Appreciated Stocks
Do you have appreciated stock? You can donate the stocks directly to FSMN without selling them first. Simply put us in touch with your broker and we will coordinate with our bank to complete the transaction.
Donating appreciated stock may have the advantage of avoiding capital gains tax that could be incurred if the stocks were sold for a cash donation.
Donor Advised Funds
Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) have become an increasingly popular and flexible means of charitable giving that can offer tax benefits and allow greater flexibility and control over charitable giving. If you choose to give via an established DAF, please contact your fund manager to direct your gift to Friends School of Minnesota.
Your gift to FSMN, as part of a thoughtful estate plan, allows for a gift as a lasting act of generosity. Legacy gifts are directed to the FSMN Endowment, where they will continue to fulfill your wishes for a financially strong, resilient school for years to come.
There are many ways to include FSMN in your estate planning, including bequests, IRA and 401k accounts, charitable remainder and charitable lead trusts. FSMN and Friends Fiduciary will coordinate to help you find the options that will work best for you.
Thank you for believing in our school, our children, and a brighter future!

Why I Give
By Kathie Simon Frank
“I share the values that the school teaches and that are a part of the structure of all of its programs and activities. The friendships I’ve made through volunteering at Friends School and my “work” on the year-round plant sale planning committee are significant factors in a life I love so much.”
