Outdoor club students visited Fort Snelling State Park to learn about harvesting maple syrup. Kao Thao, a naturalist at Fort Snelling State Park in St. Paul, walked them through the process and gave them a handout in case they wanted to tap some trees in their community. Note: Kao got 2nd prize at the state fair for his syrup!
After they learned about how to harvest maple syrup, they had some time to roast marshmallows and have fun outside. Once again, thanks to the adults in our community who make these outings happen. Getting outside is important and fun – we couldn’t do it without you. Thanks as well to our students, life wouldn’t be as interesting or inspiring without your energy!
