The Tettegouche camp is from Monday, July 8th through Friday, July 12th .
Below are some key details about the camp. For more information and how to contact teachers in an emergency see email sent on Tuesday, July 10 titled, Skipping Stones Tettegouche Itinerary. If you don’t see this email in your inbox, please check your spam and/or promotions folder.
Please note this camp is full and no longer accepting registration.
Teaching staff Steve Moe and Marshall Anderson will accompany the campers.
They will leave FSMN at 7am on Monday, July 8th. Make sure campers eat breakfast beforehand.
They will return to FSMN by 4:30pm on Friday, July 12th. We are not serving students dinner. If the bus will arrive more than 15 minutes late, your child will call you from the bus using a teacher’s phone.
One of the activities during the week is rock climbing with Outward Bound at Shovel Point. We have climbed with staff from Voyageur’s Outward Bound (VOB) at Shovel Point in Tettegouche State Park on several occasions now. Their staff is excellent and very professional.
They take safety very seriously.
They will lead our group in a “Challenge-by-choice” day of rock-climbing - meaning your children will be supported and encouraged but not pushed into anything they don’t feel ready to do.
VOB staff will provide helmets, harnesses and all necessary safety equipment and teach your children about the techniques and ethics of climbing in wild spaces.
