Becka grew up in Buffalo, New York. She has her B.A. in Biology from Carleton College and her master’s degree in Forest Ecology from the State University of NY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.

After school she backpacked the Pacific Crest Trail. She has worked in schools since the beginning of 2015. As an Americorps member, she led live animal programs in elementary schools in rural North Carolina. She worked as a counselor at an Ecology Day Camp in the Hudson Valley of New York for two summers. She substitute taught at FSM in the 2016-2017 school year.

When Becka isn’t working, she loves biking, reading, searching for wildflowers and mushrooms, baking, and spending time in the woods with her dogs, Bear and Meatloaf.
