A Northfield native, Amelia earned a degree in sociology and anthropology from McGill University in Montreal and is working on a master's degree in teaching at Hamline University. She spent a year studying and working in South Africa and was involved in a Jewish house of prayer in Montreal.

Most recently she worked in youth membership at Prairie Creek Community School. She has volunteered at Northfield Curbside Compositing and Simple Harvest Farm in Nerstrand, MN. She has also mentored Spanish-speaking elementary students in the Northfield Public Schools.

"I adore the brutal honesty and limitless curiosity of young people and can't wait to get to know the FSM community. When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy running, cooking spicy food, and drinking good coffee while reading about religion and revolutionaries."
